PLEASE SOLVE THIS EQUATION FOR X.

Three things are clear in these NBA playoffs.  The Hawks, Mavs and the Rockets are officially DONE!   And hey I'm no psychic or some great basketball mind, but I am a historian.

So let's start with the Hawks.  Let's mix a little history with a little math.  No team has ever come back from 3-0.  The equation is something like this:

Instructions - Please solve for X in the following equation.

3-0 = X

Answer:  X = Done

Do they deserve to be done?  Yes!  I feel sorry for Atlanta.  What can they do?  Lebron James is insane!  And now I am starting to feel insane!  I am actually thinking he may be better than Michael Jordan.  I used to say that anyone who said that was out of their mind, maybe from another land.  But this is now my celestial view.  (See the definition of celestial at the end of the blog).

If Lebron James was playing baseball, I'd wonder if he was getting his Manny on, or his Alex Rodriguez on, you know what I'm saying?  Getting juiced.  He's too strong for the game.  They should make a rule for James like they did with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar when he was in college. He was so dominant they outlawed the dunk.  Wilt Chamberlin was so good they created the 3- second rule.  James shouldn't be allowed to shoot in the paint!  It's unfair.  So maybe I'm insane now.  James and I have something common.

I never thought I'd see anyone more confident than Jordan.  He seems unfazed by all of this stardom.  Seems unmoved by the moment.  Seems as if it's almost his right to win multiple championships.  Seems as if he just knows it's going to happen.  Even if he never won a championship, which I see as almost utterly impossible, I'd still compare him to Jordan.  I know that's insane, but so is Lebron!  James said, "There's only a few guys in this league that can get into a zone like that and I'm blessed to have the ability to be one of those guys."

Speaking of blessed, Pastor R.A. Vernon of WORD Church in Cleveland said "I think I can say unequivocally as a Pastor, after Jesus, then comes Lebron James."

WORD!  But I guess that shows you just how important 47 pts, 12 rebounds and 8 assists are. Falls just a notch below religious beliefs.  Just below someone who preached the Word!

So the league stuck a fork in the Dallas Mavericks yesterday.  Same equation.

Please solve for X

3-0 = X

Answer:  X = Done

This series is over and although we knew they couldn't beat the Denver Nuggets, we shouldn't be saying that it's over until Game 4, but we can OFFICIALLY say it now!  Get it!   The Dallas Mavericks got straight disrespected yesterday.  So many teams, so many players have complained about fouls not being called in the last few seconds, but I don't think I have ever seen a team complain about wanting a foul called on them!  It was clear as day that Carmelo Anthony was fouled purposely by Antoine Wright and referee Mark Wunderlich, a veteran official missed it.

And I don't care if the league, comes out and says they messed up.  I'm sure that Dallas doesn't care that they've been apologized to.  The fact is it will cost them the series.   You can't shoot someone in the foot and then say you're sorry.

But I do agree with John Barry on ESPN.  You have to wrap the guy up when trying to foul if you're Antoine Wright.  You have to go over to the official and tell him that you are going to take a foul so they are aware.  And if you're Dirk Nowitzski you have to take two more seconds off the clock before you shoot on the last possession.   Plus you have to stop Chauncey Billups from scoring 32 pts on you.  So the Mavs had their own shovels and dug their own graves.

And speaking of digging.  Dirk Nowitzki doesn't want to hear about anymore gold diggers!  How scary is the situation with Dirk and his now ex-girlfriend?  And now you have to understand why some professional athletes are so guarded about their personal life.  You understand why some athletes don't give out their telephone number, why some don't like to sign autographs.  I can go as far to say why some even carry guns.  This is a crazy world out there.  Athletes, and all people in the public eye have become targets and you have to protect yourself.  Don't be upset when you see athletes with body guards or don't be upset when you can't get your favorite athlete to show up and speak at your favorite charity event.  You just never know what they're going through or what they have already been through.

But hey, I didn't want to see the Mavs in the Conference finals anyway.  They wouldn't stand a chance against the Lakers.  Why I am penciling in the Lakers?  Because Yao Ming is out with a broken foot.  Which means.... Done!

Third straight year in a row that Ming is out with the broken foot.  I feel for him.  This team can't survive. There's no way how without Yao!!!!  Who can stop the  Black Mamba from driving the lane?  Who's gonna score 30 plus points for the Rockets?  Nothing much more to say about this series.  Maybe Artest will give us some funny sound, or maybe a few scuffles will break out, but this series will now be as entertaining as that monotone teacher in "Ferris Bueller's Day OFF."

Well not much more to write about today, nothing else exciting in sports.  I guess I'm done, just like the Hawks, the Mavs and the Rockets.

Celestial - heavenly, of the sky, outer space, extraterrestrial

RIP to Chuck Daly one of the greatest coaches to ever coach in the NBA.

  1. Lakers gotta stop taking games off and prove they can stop the quick Aaron Brooks... When the Rockets ball they look pretty good. Plus it looks like Odom is having problems and Bynum aint really Bynumy....so I think the lakers may have a few issues.
