It was a moment of clarity for me. A day that I thought I would never see. Ever since the first day I saw Lebron enter the league he had seemed invincible to me. He seemed like a guy who never truly got hurt. He always seemed to bounce up after a quick fall. But for the first time yesterday I saw James as vulnerable. Even after a superhuman effort yesterday, scoring 49 points, and dishing 8 assists, it was unusual to see him so exhausted after the game. James was cramping up and gave up the ball a few times in the last few possessions. One now would have to ask can he play a game every other day at this level? The Cavs can't afford to ride James like a camel to the championship. Other guys are going to have to pitch in. And at least Mo Williams admitted yesterday that he was invisible. He took his piece of the blame when he said "It wasn't Lebron." He's right. But this was Lebron!
NO SHOT?
And to all those that didn't give the Orlando Magic a chance in this series I think you better think again. They had beaten the Cavs twice already this year. Did you really think they would be intimidated? This is the NBA and I don't think any team at this point comes in thinking they don't have a chance. I must admit I didn't think they would win Game 1 but I did think they would catch the Cavs slipping and steal one win in Cleveland. The Magic are a complete team. The play that they got from their bench was outstanding yesterday. The Magic bench outscored the Cavs bench 25-5. Mickael Pietrus led the reserves with 13 points. And I know this sounds crazy but he did the best job he could guarding Lebron James.
THIS IS MY DUDE
I never understood how people can not like Stan Van Gundy. The dude is a riot to me. His voice first of all is hysterical. Always seems like he's screaming and crying at the same time. But the guy seems to have command of his team. He seems to be a really tough guy. Not sure about his brother though. Maybe he should stay behind the camera where he belongs. And how can you not like a guy who tells his team at halftime when speaking of guarding Lebron James, "Hey you're all witnesses right now." The guy is establishing himself as a big time coach, and anyone who is anybody knows that this is the stage to do it on. The conference finals is a better time than any and Van Gundy has his guys believing.
DING DING DING!
How many people are gonna be tuning in tonight to see Carmelo vs. Kobe round 2? I know I will. But you have to wonder can Carmelo turn in another performance like he did in Game 1? I say the odds are against it. Kobe is a different story. We've seen the black mamba do this before and the Lakeshow is at home. The question for the Lakers has to be their front line. They definitely have to get tougher and show up if they want to win this series. Gasol has to be aggressive and more importantly Bynum has to get out of the tank and play like the force he can be. Gasol only had 13 pts last game and Bynum was even worst with only 6 pts and 6 rebounds. But hey I'm gonna say it now. I got Denver stealing one in Los Angeles tonight! You heard it here on CELEVISION first.
MIKE VICK
What? Did you think I was gonna be one dimensional? Just talk basketball? Mike Vick wasn't one dimensional, he could pass, scramble, do it all. Well Vick's gonna have to put all his skills to the test including his ability to persevere. Vick is out now and I feel him when he said he was going to be putting football on the back burner for now. Now is time to be with family, friends and enjoy being back to regular life. I am just as excited to see him get back on the field as everyone else, but that may not happen for a while. And if he does come back can he still be the same player he once was? I'm not sure it can happen, but then again it's not about what I think it's about what he thinks.

ReplyDeleteGot it! Question is where have they been?
ReplyDeleteMan El Amin... that was my dude during his UConn days lol! Lebron really pissed me off at the end of that last game.. I understand he is a facilitator or whatever...but with 10secs left game on the line, he gotta attempt that layup, nevermind passing the ball to the man for a 3 ball.
ReplyDeleteBut honestly I think the game should have never been that close if Turky-glu would put Delonte West in his place...no way should Turky let a 6-1 6-2 guy guard him...forget mouse, "Rat" in the house.
